Impressionist
Painter Stephen Smith is a native Oklahoman who majored in fine arts at TU. The last 15 years of his life has been dedicated
to painting landscapes, cityscapes, florals, scenics and still lifes full time. His work, which appears in private and corporate
collections nationwide, has been exhibited in numerous juried shows and galleries both locally and throughout the west and
midwest. |
|
Through
his use of dynamic colors and dynamic brushwork, Stephen (Steven) conveys his feelings for his subjects on canvas in a manner
that art patrons find compelling. Following in the tradition of the Impressionist masters, Stephen applies oil paint in layers
to give his work depth and translucence. |
|
Stephen
is drawn to subjects that exhibit strong color, including views of the southwest, spring park scenes such as those found in
Woodward Park and any and all floral subjects. |
